Game Report: Omaha 17, Atlantic City 30
Week 4

ACI get their first win of the season.

PLAYER OF THE GAME – QB Rico Firth

Firth had what may be the best QB performance in an ACI uniform in 3 years as he was 24/29 for 323 yards. This included one touchdown pass and a 124.5 QB rating. Firth leads the league with a 75.2% completion percentage and is 5th in the league with a 103.0 QB rating.

MISSING IN ACTION – Running Game

The running game is still struggling with 74 net rushing yards. Harvey Engelke had 15 carries for 43 yards (a 2.87 yd avg). Grant Fontenot got his first chance to run the ball and was awful with 5 carries for 8 yards (a 1.60 yd avg). Part of that is rust but most of it is just poor running. Adam Richard was used mainly in passing situations but still managed 4 carries for 21 yards (a 5.25 yd avg). Look for Richards to be the main runner next week.

WHAT IF . . .

ACI had a chance to blow this game wide open early but couldn’t get the ball in the end zone (an all too familiar scenario).

Omaha fumbled on their first offensive play of the game and set ACI up at the Omaha 31. The drive stalled at the Omaha 4 yard line and ACI settled for a field goal.

On Omaha’s second possession, ACI rookie cornerback Leo Pasquarella intercepted a pass and setup ACI on the Omaha 38. The ACI drive stalled at the Omaha 20 and Dixon Finch kicked his second field goal of the game to give the Phantoms a 6-0 lead.

If YOU MISSED IT

• ACI WR Emmitt Diaz had 2 catches for 111 yards, including a 96 yard touchdown reception 89 of those yards after the catch.

• ACI C Roosevelt Shephard showed that he should be in the discussion for top center in the league after 3 KeyBl and 10 BlOpp.

• ACI K Dixon Finch was injured in the second half, which forced P Howard Doyle to take over the kicking duties. Doyle responded by making a kick from 35 yards but also missing from 48 yards out.

• Harvey Engelke watch - 15 car., 43 yards, 2.87 yd. avg

BY THE NUMBERS

74 - Rushing yards gained by Omaha and ACI

32:21 - ACI time of possession (just short of our 35:00 goal)

0 - ACI turnovers

UP NEXT
