A Pictorial History of the Great Lakes. (Taken from fantastic flying froggies forum post found here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5591&hilit=hitmen ) The Albany CFL Franchise The Engineers The CFL Albany franchise began as the Engineers with Gallifrey as the original owner, but it didn't take long for the transition to the Crows. The only logo I could find for the Engineers was a pretty small avatar. I ran with that as a template and mocked up a logo that "honors" the original owner's intent. It's not entirely accurate, but it's close enough for the history books since there are no pictures of the original helmet or ingame banner to work from. ![]() ![]() The Crows Thater took over very early in the league and immediately rebranded his new franchise. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1027&p=9911&hilit=crows#p9911 ![]() I've always loved the Albany Crows nickname and logo. The helmet hasn't changed much since it's inception, and I'd tweak it just a little to bring it up to date. The Chicago/Iowa City CFL Franchise. The Hitmen Upon the league's inception the Chicago franchise were branded the Hitmen. A solid, but often used, logo and nickname in FOFdom. A little overused if you ask me. ![]() The Crosshairs with a superimposed C for Chicago is a nice logo. DBerner took over the franchise and I remember him well from the CFL, the Imperial League, and especially the DFL. He was one of the nicest guys in FOF, but he was famous for his especially long tirades and rants against the game's engine. Loved playing, and beating, that guy. The Soldiers I took over for a short period until a death in the family and move to another city without internet almost retired me. Since the Hitman nickname was in the DFL as the Syracuse franchise, I couldn't get behind it and rebranded to the Soldiers. ![]() Soldiers playing at Soldier Field just fit. One of the most inept franchises in CFL history couldn't put people into the stands at Soldier Field, so I made the Move to Iowa City. And while I was gone..the a.i. did just that. Moved them. ![]() Iowa City's rebrand was pretty simple and straightforward. I love the alliteration with City and Soldiers and as a former U.S. Army Sergeant in the Air Cavalry, Air Assault, Arctic Warriors...well, it's me. The Cleveland/Ohio CFL Franchise The Flats The Cleveland franchise started out as the Flats from the inception of the league with TLK as the original owner. One of the oddest logos ever but the damned thing worked. A cool color combination made a great helmet. An original..never copied. ![]() And the modern Flats helmet ![]() The Sentries Enter Grandmarquis84 and the rebrand from the Flats to the Sentries. ![]() Not to disrespect grandm...but should someone take over the Ohio franchise, I'd love to see the resurrection of the Flats. The Detroit CFL Franchise The Biohazzards Detroit began as the Biohazzards. I couldn't find a logo or original owner for the Biohazzards, and didn't get a response from some inquiries, so...I made something up. ![]() The Vampires Enter the legendary fantastic flying froggies and the rebrand to the Vampires. FFF ran a poll and the Vampires drained the other options. The franchise has never looked back. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=180&p=4229&hilit=vampires#p4229 ![]() And a modernized updated version of the Vamps

I believe that Detroit originally started as the Detroit Kitties for a season before the owner bailed. |

Might I suggest "The Deep South" next? Well....funny you should say that. I'm WANTING/NEEDING the old Madden mods for the helmets for some of the logos. Memphis Express comes to mind...I can find some of these on avatars from old owners, but not all. So..if anyone could shoot me the old Madden mods or even the original ingame graphics... hit me up at Davidowens.57@gmail.com. I'd like to do the entire league. I also think it would be cool to have a museum wall of all the teams old helmets up to present day. Something I've wanted to do in the DFL, too. |

I've been around for long enough, that I should be able to find some of the old files on computers that I haven't used in 5+ years. I'll see what I can find this weekend. |

I appreciate it. I want to do this, but I want it to be historically accurate so I don't have to make a bunch of helmets twice! I found the San Antonio Armadillos logo (uggh), and I put it on a white helmet. Didn't want to insult the Stingers.. |

Great work. Totally agree, I forget who did it, Ice maybe?, but I love my logo. We worked on coming up with a banner and logo that felt like a murder of Crows and I can't see ever changing that logo. |
