GG El Paso

Offense rebounded nicely with 424 total yards after getting shut out last week. The passing game was decent, but El Paso's defense did a good job of limiting big YAC plays. The running game came through in a big way, 180 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns for Vesneske. Our defense let El Paso hang around as their offense did a good job answering our scores throughout the day, but our offense was just a little too much for them.

We're off to a hot start sitting at 3-1 after only winning 5 games last season. Next week we are on the road once again against Ushi's Sodbusters. A win there would be the perfect way to end our road trip

GG Boise

We played more than good enough to win but lose a heart breaker in OT on an 81-yard pick 6, the only interception in the game. Had it not been picked we would have likely settled for a game winning FG.

There were 5 fumbles in the game and Boise recovered 4 of them, with only 1 of our 3 fumbles recovered by us. The 2 we lost were both on punt returns which makes it even worse.

Our defense gave up some chunk plays but held tough on a couple of goal line stands. The only offensive TD given up was after we held the Boise offense out of the end zone on a 1st & G from our 3 and they ended up converting on a 4th & G from our 2 with just under 2 minutes to play.

This is a good showing from our young squad led by a rookie QB but it was one we should have had that would have helped significantly in the Division race and go down as a quality win over a quality opponent.
