The warroom has been loaded with all of our stuff I will post a list of team names and passwords- please change your password as soon as you can.

Before we can get the upload utility I need to know the extensions for all teams: .018 is mine Tulsa, does anyone know an easy way to get all of these real quick so I can give them to tredsoft?

Also- we need to figure out when is the best time to start the draft

the draft will take a few days- and runs best if everyone sets a list. But before we can start the draft we need to come up with some rules if someone misses a pick and all that stuff. Also- starting around stage 10 or 14 sounds good to me- what is everyone's opinion on this?

Sunday is good for me. a.m. is better.

Do you still need the extension? I assume since I can log in that you don't.

Also, I can't set preferences or see any player names. Is something wrong or is that the way it is supposed to be right now?

Let's face it - even the best-run drafts in FOF MP take about a week to complete. I'll say we'd better start as soon as possible.

Ditto what 3ric said.

I think we need to aim for a 2 week draft and if we achieve that,we can be happy. And then try to improve next time...
(to give you a rough ideas, last season was more like a month, and that was really a nightmare for all of us...)

Also, keep in mind we have some overseas owners as well, which unfortunately may complicate things timewise...

My opinion is that we do a complete rip-off of the IHOF's rules... they seem to work very smoothly..

Only problem is they have a neutral commish to make picks if someone passes their 12 hour limit... Perhaps we have a committee? Or Doug puts a pick out there and it has to be ratified by X owners?

Why don't we just encourage everyone to have a list and use the time expiring option?

That way if someone is about to go off the clock, the utility selects from their list. No list, no pick.

Yes, I would prefer the "Minnesota" way - you miss your time to pick, you lose your pick. Not sure if FOF can handle that, though.

Also, when I log into the warroom, I don't see any players, is this correct?

Looks like the file hasn't been uploaded yet, flere. I don't see any players either...

I'm just going to warn you guys that I'm going to be moving on Monday the 17th and that the cable guy is supposed to be coming on Tuesday the 18th to get me hooked back up. I'm probably not going to move my computer on the 17th so that I can keep up to date on the draft, but you know how things go when you are moving...

I would say rd 10-14 is good. I would also think since we have this cool utility now that everyone should make their lists of 30 players, every round then we could be done with the draft in one week! It could be run just like stages are done now(when Doug gets home) and then you could download the recent picks, update your list set it to auto and that night Doug can do it again. Will be quick and painless, cause to tell the truth 12 hour time limit is LOOOOOOONG. We have had time to trade picks, we have had time to mull over the draft a bit, and I think this would be a reasonable goal, of course this is my first MP draft and I could be missing something here.

The problem with this is when someone has 2 picks in 1 round.. then a list will not work...

Done a draft like this already and it DOES NOT flow smoothly unless lists are set and the option set to make pick immediately. What happens is a lot of owners set the option to pick for me when time expires. This little quirk causes the draft to progress at a slower pace than you may expect because guys like to watch the round develop and adjust strategy accordingly. It is also an issue if owners make draft trades because some has to be able to access the warroom and make changes on a timely basis. Please dont read this as a negative spin on the utility but I want everyone who is pumped and thinking we will fly through the draft to lower the expectations a bit so we can avoid the crushing disappointment when it doesnt happen. For that reason I would encourage lower time limits (2 hours) and starting as soon as possible rather than waiting.
I think 2 weeks is a fair guess on timeframe and if owners set to pick immediately then it will go faster. BTW -- the later rounds go much faster because owners were more willing to use pick immediately. It is the early rounds that go slower.
