hosting El Paso, in really a must-win for us as we would be 3 games back with a loss. 6 passes and 6 points for El Paso. 8 plays including 6 rushes later and we tie it up. They tack on 3 more and we throw a pick, they overcome a 3rd and long with a screen but get 3 more. We go tworking in the intermediate game and went up 1 though now at 3/3 on 3rds. THe YAC versus sacks seesaw gets El Paso another 3 points to go up but we throw apick-6 and all of sudden their lead is 9. A big conversion and run from WR Spradling with goal to go but we can't knock it in via hte air in the hurry up and go into the half down 6. We continue to live and die by the TO. A failed scrmable sets up a punt for us and we finally have godo coverage to keep them at their 9. We get the stop but they flip the field completely. Our run game has deteriorated while they are still poppping off big YAC gains and they push the lead to 9 again with our stud pass rush DE leaving with a serious shoulder injury. We are fortuante to recover a fumble on the KR and convert a miracle 3rd and long and start hitting penalties as well as intermediate passes ultimately settling for 3 points again as we enter th e4th. El Paso hits a deep one and and battles but ends up punting form the orange zone. We can't do much band they have another nice PR. We get the stop but the clock is down to 7 minutes now and a strip sack sets up a new 2 possession game. We are dinking but down 2 possessions burning clock too, getting the FG just outside of 2 minutes. And El Paso runs the clock down to 30 seconds. Nice win El Paso! TOs and YAC defense...there is a theme at least. |

I'm back and active, just in time for the hardest games of the season. My current PC is being fixed so for now I'm just running on a laptop. I put in a couple stage files the past few days after being inactive since the preseason. I see we are 7-2 and are sitting at 2nd place in the division. Huge game coming up against Las Vegas. Our running game has been the highlight of the offense and Cooper Allen has been average without my offensive game plans in. REX has not been kind for the passing game it seems. We will get that fixed and his stats will improve the rest of the season now that I have returned. As I mentioned a huge game coming up against Las Vegas for control of the division. After that down the road we have road games against Alaska and Hartford, both rivals from the playoffs of the past years. Should turn out to be some entertaining games. |
