The draft issue is getting so darn complicated, I wanted to get an idea of what everyone thinks to perhaps direct our decision better. My preference is to just do a one-day draft and get it over with. A 10-14 day draft just drags the season out and people start to lose interest in the league. I'd rather be playing games than waiting for 31 other people to select players. |

I voted against the live draft. It's almost impossible to find a common time for 32 owners, so when do you do it? I'm perfectly happy with a 10 day draft. My main issue right now is that we seem to be headed for a repeat of last year's draft, which took close to 3 weeks! and that is waaaaay too long... |

I don't think a live draft is practical. I don't want my first round investments left up to the scout (too much money at stake) and I'd prefer to be able to scan the draft activity and propose trades and whatnot. Doing the draft entirely live might prevent me from being able to do that. In fact, it almost certainly will, as I rarely have more than an hour at a time free. What about blending a 6-hr clock window draft for the first 3-4 rounds with a "preference" draft for the last 3-4? This would allow folks to pick their own big-investment players and would expedite completion of the later rounds in a fair manner (since everyone will be subject to the preference draft - not just the folks who can't make it). |

I guess I'm one of those strange ones that wants to make a pick no matter what round the player is in. I have no problem making short lists of 4-5 players when my pick is 4-5 picks away. I also like the ability to make a trade mid-draft if I want to trade up and trade down. However, I think that we have a diverse enough owners group that no single method will make everybody happy. I voted against a live draft because its impossible to schedule so many people. I think that commish group (Doug, Taco, and GE) just need to make a decision and the rest of us should live with it. It would be a shame to waste the draft utility now that we have one. |

I again do not understand why mirroring a proven successful rule set (IHOF) is such a bad idea.. That being said.. I agree that the commish needs to just make a decision and go with it. We are too late in the game to start discussing what we should do at this point. For this year, we need to start TODAY as far as I'm concerned and that does not leave time for a vote. That being said, a live draft will never work. And I'm not about to run my whole draft via one big preference. The draft is WAY too important. |

You could run the first 4 rounds by email and then the rest by a List. I know it's slow but it allows everybody to participate and make their crucial picks. |

And let's get started right away. |

IHOF rules would be the way to go. A 14 hour limit isn't as bad as people are thinking, and it get's rid of the whole 'off hours' debate. |
