With the # 2 pick the ______ select CB Willie Golalic. I am not sure who will be picking here- but I am pretty sure Golalic will be the player chosen. He sure would look good in a Talon uniform wouldn't he? ;)

If you want a QB who can't read the Defense, sense the rush, or run the 2 minute offense, go ahead and take him. He wont be a Phantom tho.

BTW, The #2 pick is available for offers.

Rumors have it that the Torpedoes attempted to make a go for it, possibly not sweetening the pot quite enough (in hindsight, I wish I would have offered more)... AND had a contingency pick for the #2 if Aylmar had taken the CB...

But what do the rumor mills know? ;)

Tucson fans can rejoice! Many pundits have criticized Toros management for spending the offseason (and a lot of cap dollars) aggresively improving the defense, already a strength of the team, by adding DE Isaiah Melo and DT Chester Reed. But Tucson finally made a substantial improvement on the other side of the ball today, by trading up to the #4 position in the draft and selecting RB Drew Holliday.

Holliday should have a considerable impact as a rookie and is expected to compete for the starting job this training camp. At least he'd better, since Tucson gave up picks #18, 30, and 62 to get him.

EDIT: Let the overpayment accusations begin! :)

Actually, I think you put up market value for the pick... I'm just unsure at Holliday... I was debating whether I would pick him depending on who was picked ahead of me, and there was just something about him that rang untrue to me... I just can't put my finger on it because I look at him now and he looks damned good...

According to the draft pick value chart, this was as fair a trade as could possibly be done...

1800 points on one hand, 1804 on the other...

You can't get much better than that...

Now, whether Holliday was worth it is another question...

I'm pretty surprised by this pick... I figured anyone looking to trade with me wanted the LT...

The only thing I can figure is efforts were made to get 1.6 or 1.7? I just didn't think common log was that this guy was worth a 1.5...

I'd have to agree with you. I didn't see Crawford going before 1.8 or so. And the LT was pretty tasty - a tough player to pass up at 1.5.

I have him at 1.08 in my analysis also, but then again, I don't have a 17 year vet at QB with nobody backing him up. It may have been a little high, but he did ensure that he got to choose which QB he wanted. Shreveport will still blitz his ass, every opportunity we get, though.

I dont know about that LT there are only 16 players with a lower Solecismic score  He obviously is not the smartest cookie in the bunch.

"Yeah. Bob."

"No, the other uniform."

"Oh. Uh-huh."

"Run into him. A lot."

"Oh."
