Good Game Vito,

I think it could be your Passing Cohesion. Fun game to watch, it was a complete shootout.

Now on to Durham, this is how the Durham/Omaha Rivalry started with games like this one coming up. It's for all the marbles, who wants to go to the playoffs and who get to sit at home.

Good Luck HB, should be a good one.

We trip up against TEN. 2 early TOs and gave up 3 big YAC plays including after clawing our way back to a late lead. Just no explosive plays for us as we had less than 1 YAC per catch to their 6+.

Missed opportunity as well as LVS also lost and we could have got the bye but we decided to play it safe and let Crabtree get 100%

GG Marven

The quarterbacks in this game were outstanding. Alaska's Jimmy Marischen was 12/16 for 217 yards, 2 touchdowns and a 156.3 rating in the first half before being injured (turning point number one). His backup Jamal Hanks was good at 9/15 for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns but on this day that wasn't enough. Atlantic City QB Jared Graham was on fire as he went 14/17 for 249 yards with 2 touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 QB rating.

One way to have a productive passing day is to run the ball well and both teams did that. Don Washington of the Kodiaks had 15 carries for 101 yards while the Phantoms had two running backs near the 100 yard mark (Trey Keith at 16 carries for 96 yards and Anthony Malinsky with 15 carries for 97 yards).

The second turning point occurred in the 4th quarter with Atlantic City clinging to a 42-38 lead. After stopping the Kodiaks, Malinsky returned the punt 85 yards for the deciding touchdown.

A fun game to watch.

Not pretty in Texas as either we or Death Valley have to get the division win and playoff spot but we are both vying to lose the division at this point. If we win, and end at 8-8, and DVY loses we get the division. If they win or we lose they claim it. Funny scenario will be if we both lose and they enter the playoffs with a 7-9 record!

Also......kinda disappointed in the short write up. Been waiting all year for the royal treatment by the Fargo newspapers.....must be staffing cuts over there.

My team might just be the hottest eliminated team in the whole league.

The scary thing is you don't even lead the division in that category. I just checked and we have 39 on the season.

We are also #4 on the list for passing cohesion, so I'm not sure that is the cause. I think it has more to do with having good receivers catching balls.

I haven't done a deep dive but it feels like drops are way up across the board this season. There have been many drives where our defense got off the field due to dropped passes, so just like kick returns don't bother me I try not to let the insane number of drops this season bother me either...and I'm trying really hard with Conley up to 18 on the season.

I sure hope I don't face any sub-.500 teams in the playoffs as that is our Achilles heel this year. Give me a beatable team and I will lose to them in convincing fashion.

My fears are realized and our worst case scenario is upon us. We are at DEFCON 1 and tomorrow is gonna determine what we are all made of. I'd say GL Smitty but that would be a lie. lol

GG slimmikey

Your roster is stacked, much better than your record shows. I knew this was going to be a tough game, loosing our rb didn't help with a run heavy game plan.

Hopefully we can close out our season with a win next week and upset Alaska!

I feel like the engine uses drops to correct overtargetting some...if a guy gets 10+ targets you will almost always see a couple drops

That seems like the best explanation so far.

I had 5 more drops in Week 17, bringing my team's total to 44 on the season. My best WR is Mason Conley who now has 20 drops on the season. The most he ever had previously was 10 in his 3rd season when his targets hit 191 on the year. His targets this year with 20 drops? 259.

I quickly checked his drop % and it was 3% his rookie year and was 5% every year until this year where it is 8%. Drops ranged from 2 to 10 over those years with a target range of 77 to 195. So I guess a few percentage points increase should be expected when targeting a guy over 250 times.

Conley's Avoid Drops is 54, so average in that department. I think there is probably a sweet spot in the mid-100's for number of targets for your top receiver where you'll maximize catch % and minimize drop %. Looking at the seasons in the high 100's and into the 200's target-wise seems to have a decrease in catch % and an increase in drop %, which is common sense I guess.
