Hosting HON, does not look like Shooter ever did really join as he has been playing the same GPs and his backup QB most of the season. That said, he made it this far and even whupped us pretty good this season so he must be dang good. A good KR sets HON up to dink and pound their way 4 or 5 yards at a time to a FG and we go 3andO as we come up short on the ground on 3rd and 3. A quick stop for our D and we battle our way to set up a first down before Fulton rips off a 50 yarder to set up 1st and goal and TD. HON goes backwards and our 3rd TE gets his second grab of the day on a screen and Fulton takes care of the rest as we go up 14-3. 2 3andOs for HON and we get omving again hitting 3rd WR Sheldon over the top before Crabtree helps us get all the way into the endzone. HON gets a 1st down but then gets sacked back again and Crabtree has a nice catch and run for us to flip the field on HON and they take us into the half. Great so far...glad we learned from the last game. We can't move it and they start moving the chains before hitting a 50 yard bomb from midfield and convert the 2 pointer to make it a 10 point game. We tack on 3 and get the clock down to 20 minutes left in the game. Both teams throw picks to close out the 3rd as they punt it away. 4 more punts get us to the 8 minute mark an we go to work salting it away but have no luck there either but they coe up short on 4th and 4 inside of 5 minutes so let us call that ballgame. Kinda let down playing an absentee GM in the POs but we will take it. Nice to see us do well on 3rd down all the same and not commit errors that would let htem back in it especially with 2 of our OL still out. Grateful to still be in it, and our next foe has their history quite mingled up with ours due a blockbuster trade a few seasons back. Guess you could say that since we are both here, then it was a good win/win. |

Life got in the way last night and didn’t get a file in. Either way, good game, Aamalin. Your team is on the rise again. Good luck the rest of the way. Bring another title home for the Deep South. I’m hoping Gilmore doesn’t want his career to end with a playoff loss to Tennessee, but doubt he’ll give us another year. Good season, all! Time to start watching college prospects . . . |

GG Raven Hawk. Time to start watching college prospects . . . Gilmore was moving up and down the field with ease, but the turnover bug caught up with you. Speaking of bugs, since we played this game without 2 of our top 3 receivers (Cookie Poisoning ) I didn't expect the offense to move the ball much. Got a huge game from FB Rodrick McNally who played a bunch of RB in this one and Porto continued to play "solid" ugly ball. I guess it doesn't matter how you win, as long as you win. In a classy move Gilmore was seen swapping jerseys with Alex Porto after the game.......for which Porto took a bunch of ribbing from his teammates. I'm guessing that Gilmore's last game jersey is worth a bit of ribbing and then some!! I've really liked my pieces on defense all year and they finally seem to be gelling at the right time. Can't keep them all next year, but we should have some money to spend and make a big splash. Maybe get Porto a real weapon that can stay on the field...... On to Kansas City who we upset earlier this year...... I'd count us as a big underdog in this one.....but we kind of like it that way. |
