I think anybody thinking about joining this league should read the following thread over at FOFC.

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums ... post753143

Very interesting and enlightening reading.

i removed the link from the post- if it was someone in our league advertising a new league that would be ok. Or if he had asked permission it would have been ok...
I asked another league member who was on aim what he thought- and we decided to remove the link from the post.

Who in the world ARE you, soverign, and how do you know me so well?

Nothing in that thread is truth. Believe what you wish - those around me know what is true. In any event, I respect your wishes to not have my league advertised on your board, though I think it a shame. I will refrain from posting again, unless it's to defend myself against accusations from people who've never even spoken to me.

What does this have to do with the CFL?

If you want to have a debate with sovereignstar, please do it through PM or AIM, don't do it here.

Now, if you want to talk about the Rounders' long shot at making the playoffs, this is where you can do it.

I personally don't think Thomas "The Bum" Karl has the gonadinal fortitude to get us over the hump, even though the young line has been gelling as of late. However, Lenny "Jackpot" Olsen has pulled out some long shots of his own this season and anything is possible.

Your thoughts?

Per your request, TurfToe:

vs. Atlantic City - The Rounders will have a tough time against the Phantoms, since it will be pitting weakness vs. weakness and strength vs. strength. Atlantic City's horrible run defense may be just challenging enough for Thomas "The Bum" Karl. However, the Phantom's stout pass defense, anchored by rookie prodigy Willie Golalic at CB, may be hitting a few "Jackpot's" of their own this week. Good thing the Rounders are playing at home. This one is very winnable.

@ Tucson - Good luck with this one. Tucson is in the middle of a title hunt and they won't be slowing their train down for anybody. Tucson is 5-1 at home and has the advantage of throwing rookie phenom, RB Drew Holliday, at the Rounders. Holliday has rushed for over 1000 yards and 4.45 YPC. The Rounders will counter with Mario Ah Yat who has stuffed up the middle making it hard for teams to run on the Rounders. The Rounders only allow 3.69 YPC to their opponents. Where the rubber will meet the road in this match is in turnovers. Tucson is -8 in turnovers, which makes me think that "Jackpot" Olsen will be going deep. Las Vegas is -3 in turnover in their own right, so who can avoid turning the ball over deep in their own territory will win this game. Tucson won the first matchup by only 3 points in Las Vegas.

vs. Hartford - It's been said before. James Oberg is the life blood of Harford. If Oberg can avoid injury, Hartford is going to be the hardest match of the 4-game set. Hartford is 7-1 under Oberg and 0-4 under Vergara, with Oberg's only loss coming at the hands of the 10-2 Durham Bulldogs by a margin of only 2 points. If Las Vegas manages to make win vs. Atlantic City and Tucson, this is the game that will put the final nail in the coffin.

vs. Honolulu - The defending champions are living up to their billing. Although Ronnie Tu had a rough go of it early in the season, the defense was able to hold their own. This team is a power house, but it may be a winable match if Las Vegas makes it to this point undefeated. Why? Because if the Rounders beat Tucson, they've done Honolulu a favor. If Honolulu isn't fighting for home field advantage, they may just rest some of their starters. However, I don't think that will happen. Seeing as the GM admitted that the scouts were running the show. Something tells me the scouts will leave Ronnie Tu in to get injured one game before the playoffs.

There you have it, an official breakdown of the Rounder's chances. My personal estimation is that the Rounders will finish out 2-2 with a final record of 8-8. Here is the official ranking of their chances, with my personal opinion bolded.

In the playoffs
----------------
100% Chance - Team of Destiny
90% Chance - Please, Boise, Lose 1 Game for Me!
80% Chance - Please, Boise Lose 2 Games for Me!
70% Chance - Please, Boise Lose 2 Games, Tucson Lose 1 Game!
60% Chance - Please, Boise Lose 2 Games, Tucson & Fargo Lose 1!
50% Chance - Maybe we should consider sabotaging Boise's jet.
40% Chance - And Tucson's jet.
30% Chance - Better think about unpacking the golf clubs now.
20% Chance - When does mini-camp start again?
[b9c55fd8]10% Chance - If I want to go to the playoffs, I better call Ticketmaster.[/b9c55fd8]
0% Chance - Snowball's Chance in Hell
-------------------
Out of the Playoffs

It's nice to see Klemu dragged out of the closet and dusted off. The Internet has not been graced with the likes of Klemu in what seems like ages.

Hey Klemu, if you see Norm hanging around, tell him to come out and play!

Thanks for the playoff run endorsement, it means a lot...

I've heard rumors of what Norm likes to play. I'd pass if I were you Klemu.
