KLAS sent Newts R. Sorenzwolen out to chat with Rounder's GM, TurfToe.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: What is the timetable for Lenny Olsen's return?
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: You'd have to talk to Coach Strong on that one. We pretty much shut him down for the first four weeks following the injury. Broken bones just take time and there's no reason to hurry him back without the proper healing in place.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: So, you're saying that we may not see Jackpot for a few more weeks?
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: What's your deal Einstein? I said nothing about his return except that you would need to address the issue with Coach Strong.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: What are your thoughts on Luke Alston's performance?
[b1785619][u1785619]TurfToe[/u1785619][/b1785619]: I think he's done well. Even though it may cost me when I sit down to talk with his agent, I'd go so far as saying he's earned himself another contract with the Rounders, assuming he still wants to play here. We've gone 5 weeks without Jackpot and we are 2-3 over that span. To be perfectly honest, I think Jackpot may have only taken us 3-2 over the same stretch. Dropping one game we weren't expecting to lose is pretty damn good for the kid, especially considering the level of competition we had; Tucson, Honolulu, and Charleston are damn good teams. That doesn't even count him pulling our bacon out of the fire in the Arizona game where we lost Olsen.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: So are the rumors true that you'll ride Alston the rest of the season and let Lenny heal up for next year's run?
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: If the rumor were true, would it really be a rumor? *winks*
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: We've just been joined by the Las Vegas Rounder's injured QB, Lenny Olsen. How's the wheel Lenny?
[u1785619][b1785619]Lenny[/b1785619][/u1785619]: It's feeling ok Newts, just a little sore and swollen. You know how that goes...
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: Yes, yes I do. What is your take on your backup's performance so far?
[b1785619][u1785619]Lenny[/u1785619][/b1785619]: Luke's done really well. He's shown that he has what it takes to run this offense. He throws a pretty good deep ball and can spread it around a bit. I think he's progressing nicely.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: How soon before we see you suit up?
[u1785619][b1785619]Lenny[/b1785619][/u1785619]: That's really up to the training staff and the doctors. I can't do so much as piss and they've got a thermometer up my ass trying to test something or another.
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: Yeah, me too and I'm not even on the injury list...
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: Rumor has it that you might be ready in another week, while other rumors are that you'll be placed on IR and shut down for next year's run. Can you corroborate either of those for me today?
[u1785619][b1785619]Lenny[/b1785619][/u1785619]: I don't know, let's see if I can get one of the trainers and a thermometer over here to help you out with that...(laughs)...gotta run guys...
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: Thanks Lenny. Turftoe, what are your chances at winning the division or even making the playoffs for that matter?
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: We just like to take it one game at a time. If we can't win our games, why should we worry about what Tucson or Honolulu does? Honolulu has pretty much taken the division title already. They only have one challenge left on their schedule in Anchorage, and honestly, I hope they beat them, as they are one of the Wild Card teams we'll be battling against for that spot. Even if Honolulu puts it in cruise control, I don't see any losses on their remaining schedule. Tucson just jumped into the ship that we are hoping to get off of soon. Arizona gave us both one-way tickets to 2nd Stringerville. I just hope Tucson gets healthy by the end of the year, as I really enjoy going to Tucson and taking a shit in Fonzie's house.
[u1785619][b1785619]Newts[/b1785619][/u1785619]: So Turftoe, there's no way for us to get any information out of you on your QB status?
[u1785619][b1785619]TurfToe[/b1785619][/u1785619]: I told you that it
