I felt we did great, picked up a couple of starters and plenty of good backups.

[i183eb43]Great Picks;[/i183eb43]

[b183eb43]Mario Harvill ILB[/b183eb43] - Starter from day one, run stopping fool.

[b183eb43]Dennis de los Santos K[/b183eb43] - He's the kicker I've been looking for since I started playing in this league.
[b183eb43]
Rod Tkachuk OLB[/b183eb43] - Another starter from day one..

[i183eb43]Good Picks;[/i183eb43]

[b183eb43]Harry Kiwanuka T[/b183eb43] - He may start this season, he's just so damn strong.

[b183eb43]Karl Givens TE[/b183eb43] - This is the backup we have been looking for.. He'll give Bidwell needed rest this season.
[b183eb43]
Charlie Downs WR[/b183eb43] - I'm putting him as a good pick because we needed Wideouts this year.

[i183eb43]Surprise Picks;[/i183eb43]

[b183eb43]Leroy Cooper CB[/b183eb43] - I took a chance on him late in the draft and it appears he's a solid pick.

Johnny Welch ILB, Nick Hall DE, JJ Hastings QB were all surprises.

1.12 DE Edwin Osborne (37/85) - Looks to be a big time star and a potential face of the franchise for years to come.

2.11 DT DJ Hansen (31/49) - Should be a solid player. Decent run stuffing and pass rushing skills. Probably won't ever be a star with his lack of endurance.

3.10 CB Bryce Kelley (29/44) - Another potentially solid player. Should be able to pick off some passes and make some tackles.

4.14 QB (and former UTEP Miner!) Ralph Campbell (11/43) - Possible backup, but likely will never be a starter in the league. Has his work cut out for him to make the team.

5.13 CB Levon Phenix (28/43) - Possible future nickle back. If he works hard in training camp could become a valuable asset to the team.

6.12 FS Kent Bryden (28/53) - A bit of a sleeper after refusing to work out at the combine, and it looks like it may have paid off for us taking the risk to pick him. Immediately becomes our third best safety, and with our starters aging could become a starter sooner rather than later.

7.11 K Lincoln Gillespie (31/75) - Current K [player]B.J. Sutton[/player] had a solid season last year but hasn't had the best career. We picked Gillespie on a whim, and it looks like he has serious potential. Could be the franchise kicker we have been looking for ever since the league started...

I like the running back we traded down for in the first, I think he'll be a ten year player and eventually a star in the CFL.

The three linebackers I nabbed in the fourth all hit the rosters rated in the fifties future potential, and all will start this year. Again, three players I think that will be ten year players for the Tigers.

The FS I picked up in the fifth will be switched to SS, and he hit the rosters nicely.

The Flanker wasn't interviewed, was a reach, and won't make the team. Damn mistake on my part.

The LG I nabbed in the seventh will be switched to RG and he looks to be a good find for us. Will get a good long look in the preseason.

The game rates our draft a C. Screw the game. I got what I wanted

[b2f1acb3]1.15 RCB [player]Brandon Norton[/player][/b2f1acb3] (30/41) - I have confidence that his ratings will end up being higher than my scout is telling me, but I'm worried that they won't be as high as I would like from someone selected 15th overall. This year Norton won't get much playing time but may contribute on kick returns.

[b2f1acb3]2.12 LG [player]Jake Schwartz[/player][/b2f1acb3] (28/49) - Very inexperienced but could get significant playing time next season. Drafting Schwartz likely means that [player]Randall Wilkins[/player] will get cut before the regular season.

[b2f1acb3]3.1 SLB [player]Emmitt Stevenson[/player][/b2f1acb3] (27/51) - Very undersized (5'10", 241 lbs.) and projects as a solid backup LB. My starting SLB [player]Cole Garrett[/player] is not pathetic at pass rushing so I'm hoping Stevenson can come in and at least provide occasional pressure from that position.

Only 3 picks this year but I did pick up and extra 3rd rounder next year. The game gave me a grade of B, but I think that's being kind - I probably deserve lower.

[b8911851]1.18[/b8911851] - [b8911851]RB[/b8911851], [player]Roy Jones[/player] (38/57) - I must admit I have high hopes for this guy since I traded up & mortgaged the early part of next year's draft to get him. Wasn't impressed with his early numbers, but I really liked his combine and he seems to have very little downside. He will have an immediate impact in kickoff returns and he will have to split carries this year to prove himself.

[b8911851]3.29[/b8911851] - [b8911851]RB[/b8911851] ,[player]Blaine Dunlap[/player] (45/51) - I was really suprised to see him there at 3.29. I like his initial upside and he will battle Jones for carries. He has tremendous speed to the edge and has the ability to go the distance. Again high hopes here and he has some great promise. It will be an interesting battle between incumbent [player]Darryl Roberson[/player] who ran for 1200+ and caught 47 passes, recently signed veteran [player]Artie Sonntag[/player], and the 2 newcomers in camp. We may carry 4-5 backs this year into the season.

[b8911851]4.4[/b8911851] - [b8911851]RB[/b8911851], [player]Irv Dusek[/player] (19/59) - Great value in the 4th round. We had this guy as a must have before the draft and gave up the later half of our draft to get him. While having very good bars in all the right places he should fit in as our secondary leader and mentor in a few years which adds extra value to San Antonio since he should fall in line with the rest of the secondary.

All in all, we're very happy with our 3 picks and are looking to compete at a high level this year.

Chicago had a great draft. We are very pleased. Now hoping they survive training camp.

1.4 LDE Tim Hartman (50/77) -- Instant starter. Huge upgrade. He will replace recently retired DE Askins. He will anchor the end of the DL for years to come. (GREAT PICK)

2.3 LT Leslie Fredrickson (31/68) -- Happy to move out of the 1.27 spot, acquire Boise's 1st in 2016 and 2nd next year along with 7.20 and still get our guy at 2.3. Expect him to move to the right side and become the starting RT for the Hitmen. (GREAT PICK)

3.4 SS Jimmie Perkins (25/65) Not likely to compete for a starting job at SS but expect him to make a showing as a possible FS and he will get reps in the Nickel and Dime packages. (VERY GOOD PICK)

4.3 FS Kevin Blackston (26/56) Not likely to compete for a starting job at FS but expect him to get reps in the Nickel and Dime packages. (VERY GOOD PICK)

5.4 SILB Albert Humphrey (12/42) He probably keeps a roster spot just because the team is light in LBs at this point. His special teams skills are probably what saves his bacon. He may have to fight off other guys not currently on the team for his roster spot. (AVERAGE PICK)

6.3 RB Bill Reagan (32/53) -- Reagan is a potential home run for the Hitmen. This kid has a chance to open training camp as the 2nd RB and has the skills to make 5th year RB Tyrone Rison (4 yr starter) sweat bullets. (GREAT PICK)

7.4 RCB Chad Collier (10/29) He will need a strong camp to stick with the team. Expect to see him packing his bags on the first cut. (Wasted Pick)

7.20 WR Wendell Downs (16/34)-- Downs will need to come into camp and show some stuff to stick around. He will battle it out with 2nd yr WR Roger Richard for a roster spot. (Good Pick considering the spot)

1.19 QB [player]Brenden Cassidy[/player] (12/61) - Brenden packs his bags and moves an hour an a half down the road from Louisiana - Monroe to Shreveport. This was a risky pick for us and based on what else was available at this pick, we'll need him to out perform his current 12/61 rating to be happy with the pick.

3.23 MLB [player]Donald Burnett[/player]( 31/46) - he has all the tools of a WLB and that's probably where we'll move him. I wasn't ecstatic with this pick, but he filled a need.

5.23 SLB [player]Jack Cherry[/player] (22/53) - Jack and newly acquired [player]Roger Ballard[/player] will be competing to fill the void that [player]Kendall Warren[/player] left when he went to Cleveland in a trade that brought [player]Burt Liszkiewicz[/player] to the Pride. We were going to draft him at 5.3, but decided to trade down. We were ecstatic when he was still here at 5.23.

6.4 C [player]Gus Schanne[/player] (27/61) - Gus is a Red flag player but he is another one that we were considering at 5.3 when we traded down. If his red flag doesn't cause too many problems, he'll be a big asset to the Pride. His presence will allow [player]Percy Cherpeski[/player] to move back to his natural position at Right Guard. Pork Chop will be happy to get back to what he knows best.

6.10 RCB [player]Jimmie Alston[/player] (25/52) - We were happy to see Jimmie still available at 6.10 because we think he is going to be a great nickel back. His skills look great in coverage and can hit hard, but he certainly will be no ball hawk.

6.19 FS [player]Benjamin Reed[/player] (18/57) - Taking a flyer on another local hero. Benjamin played for Northwest Louisiana, which is just southeast of Shreveport. He looks good and will have a season to prepare himself under Iron Man [player]William Saleh[/player]. I think Reed and another new addition from Tucson, [player]Austin Torres[/player] will be a tandem to recon with a couple seasons down the road.

7.3 SE [player]Graham Carter[/player] (20/53) - When [player]Charlie Downs[/player] was drafted in the 3rd round, I though that my prospects of getting a good WR in this draft had slipped away. However, even though my scout disagrees, I think Graham Carter will fill the void left by [player]Bert Ford[/player] who found his way to the Talons in the offseason.

7.19 [player]J.B. Gragg[/player] (20/55)- J.B. was on my draft list all draft long and Centers were sliding down the board. I really needed to pick up some interior linemen and I didn't like what I saw at Guard in this year's draft. So Gragg will probably move out to learn the RG position. If he can catch on quickly, he could be a starter in a season or two.

7.23 TE [player]Grady Henry[/player] (25/51)- I needed a third TE to start to take some reps away from aging [player]Ralph Jarvis[/player]. By the time Henry becomes an RFA, he should be able to step into the backup role well.

Overall I am very happy with my late round picks. If they can maintain their current projections, we had a great draft. Alot of my draft will be rated based on how Brenden Cassidy turns out. If Cassidy becomes a star, the Pride should be able to continue to perform well. The rash of retirements sent me into a rebuilding mode this year, but I still have some great players on my team. The game gives me a "B" and I agree. The early rounds are suspect, but the later rounds were good to me, providing the youngsters can continue to impress at camp.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]1.01 - RDE Shannon Hutchinson[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 56/84 Considering I wasn't even considering Hutchinson a possibility but scouted him anyway, I think self-fulfilling prophecy is a saying to use here. Since the 1.01 sort of fell into my lap since I simply took the time to see what the asking price was and could easily meet/beat the other deals, he was a no-brainer for the Rounders since it was also a significant need. More of the self-fulfilling prophecy occurred back in 2013's Week 2 when after losing to Detroit, I had this to say, [quote64e5710="TurfToe"]gg FFF.

...sometime after we have a top 3 pick secured. Come to think of it, I do need a DE...
[/quote64e5710]

Hutchinosn will only be a disappointment if he busts, obviously, but we are fairly confident he is the real deal and the #1 or #2 DE in the draft class depending on how El Paso's Osbourne does in camp.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]1.16 - WLB Alan Leibert[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 41/70 Leibert was a guy I had pegged from the onset of the draft since we are still trying to recover from the Great Linebacker Retirement of the FOF2007 upgrade. He was my favorite of the OLB's and I assumed I could either trade down a few spots from 1.09 to get him or use the 1.09 on the ILB's to convert outside. Either way, he was a value and a need pick that I feel very good about going into camp.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]2.04 - RCB Josh Jammer[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 38/60 Jammer was overrated according to my scout but this pick occurred as Lester Ashmore was being escorted out of the Vegas warroom by security. Jammer was the choice to fill some needs in the defensive backfield. I'm leary of this pick only because of the misinformation from my scout and will be excited if we can move Jammer into an LCB spot with a 60+ potential after camp.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]2.08 - RDT Chuck Maciel[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 24/53 I was surprised to see Chuck available at this pick and despit our needs I couldn't let him go any further. His ability to play the run and rush the passer from the inside will help our good front seven get "gooder". If he booms in camp, "gooder" becomes great and we're all happy in the front office. If I had to predict a potential boom from my draftees, I would say Chuck is the most likely candidate based on markers I use to pull shit like this out of my ass.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]2.19 - WLB Wendell Dixon[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 37/59 Dixon was another guy Ashmore didn't like but I did. He wasn't my next best choice after Leibert, Nielsen was but he went to Tucson at 1.32. The likes of Brock Clark and others drafted before the middle of the seond would've been nice but it was obvious that LB's were on a run early. If Dixon pans out, my strategy this year was a success as Leibert is a player and Lochtefeld is maxed from last year's first round and looks to be getting better still. If I can get them through camp in a positive manner and keep them healthy, this LB corp will bring back memories of Comeau, Saxon, and Spalding.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]6.07 - FB Edgar Galloway[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 19/52 Edgar is a prototypical FB. He can runblock and passblock, he can run the ball when necesary (especially 3rd downs), and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He has some other holes but he can do what the Rounders require of him from the FB position. Wisdom needs to teach someone his craft and Galloway may be the guy to learn from the master.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]6.32 - FL Steve Horton[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 20/41 Horton and Clinton (see below) were rated the same as far as my late round picks go. Horton got the nod for some reason that I no longer remember and he will get the chance to back up former 5th round boom sensation Corwin Poole. He will get a chance to work with one of the legendary QB's in the game, Jackpot Olsen, for at least one season, an opportunity most rookies only dream of and an opportunity few rookies get to experience around the league.

[u64e5710][b64e5710]7.09 - FL Rob Clinton[/b64e5710][/u64e5710]: 18/37 Clinton was a coin flip with Horton at 6.32 and he was still on the board at 7.09 so he got a chance to make a squad. His 3rd down and punt return skills would've landed him an undrafted free agent look somewhere but we nabbed him without dealing with free agency to give him a look. He's in a competition with Horton to see who can be one of Vegas' 53.

Overall, this draft was a significant departure from Rounder draft strategy. Historically, we drafted offense and built a solid defense through free agency. With the advent of FOF2007 and the inability to sign free agents (not to mention all of the previously signed free agents retiring) it was high time to get some solid youth on the defensive side of the ball. I think the holes have been filled and the pressure is now on Olsen and Palmer to get it done on their side. The cohesion will take some time on defense but the skills are there to limit teams on the scoreboard. The late round offensive selections were simply hole-fillers that would've been addressed in late free agency anyway. My B+ grade might be an A or a C, depending on how camp goes.

All these players in the 50s make my draft look Oh So Shitty. Mitch Pike # 3 overall seems like a solid pick, but compared to some other players taken after him, he wasn't even that good of a pick.

Quite a few of my players were underrated, and had good bars- So I'm hoping that they develop nicely through training camp.

Yeah, I'm going to hold off on doing a write up on my guys until after training camp. We'll all know a lot more by then.

Hi gang, I'm back from vacation and it was a great deal of family fun. Let's see how the draft list did since I was gone.

[be7da8e1]1.14 MLB Lee Cencerik (34/74). [/be7da8e1]Instant starter and desperately needed. He's only low on BnR coverage, but what the hell does a MLB need that for anyways? He's a total run stopping stud, that can blitz and do solid zone coverage.

[be7da8e1]2.13 WLB Sammie Hartsock (39/62). [/be7da8e1] Real happy to get him here. Just like Cencerik, a big time run stuffer and blitzer. Plus, his special teams ability will be a big help.

[be7da8e1]3.12 RDT Sherman Negron (27/63).[/be7da8e1] I didn't need a DT this draft, but he was too good to pass up on for my list. It was kinda a pipe dream to get him in the 3rd anyways, but it worked out. Again, another solid run stuffer (see a pattern here people?). He seems rated on par with 2nd round players taken. Big steal, IMO.

[be7da8e1]4.11 SS Heath Pogue (22/55). [/be7da8e1]Great run stuffer and ballhawk. Plus, I finally have a legit punt returner. I targeted this guy as a must have 4th rounder early on.

[be7da8e1]5.10 LT Mitch Simmons (7/56). [/be7da8e1]Bit of a project and much more of a technique blocker as he doesn't have much strength, but some weight training should help out.

[be7da8e1]6.14 FL Brady Poe (11/48]. [/be7da8e1]Real good possession and 3rd down reciever. Looks to be a very solid special teamer.

[be7da8e1]7.13 LT Johnny Graham (25/43). [/be7da8e1]Didn't interview him, but seems to be a real good pass blocker. Likely will be moved to G.

Not too bad for just making a pref list of 26 players for 6 rounds and then going best T available. I got a B from the game, and I agree with it pretty much. The first 4 picks are real solid.

I'm pretty happy with what I did.

[bfa9806e]1.23 LCB Harvey Strugielski (39/58 )[/bfa9806e] Will step into the nickel role this year. Carl Blades and Willie Golalic are both getting older so he'll look to be a successor to one of them, most likely Blades.

[bfa9806e]2.7 RDE Brett Russell (20/53)[/bfa9806e] I probably could have gotten a better DE to play opposite from Petrafassi, but he should be solid in a backup role.

[bfa9806e]2.9 SE Lamont Matthews (31/64)[/bfa9806e] I really like this guy. I added this pick when I traded down from 1.8 to 1.19, and I feel it was worth it because he'll give me another quality starting WR

[bfa9806e]3.7 QB Ty Fulton (19/61)[/bfa9806e] I needed a 3rd QB for the roster, and I really like this guys upside. He'll backup Sawyer for a couple years first tho.

[bfa9806e]4.8 RT Blake Heredia (18/51)[/bfa9806e] Very good technical blocker. Doesn't have great blocking strenght but neither does Craig VanEck and he's been great for us.

[bfa9806e]5.7 LG Harvey Irwin (28/64)[/bfa9806e] I didn't make this pick, so thank's to whoever did. He'll move to RG and has a very good chance to start there this season for the Phantoms

[bfa9806e]6.9 LDE Deon Birney (28/40)[/bfa9806e] Depth player. Good pass rush technique, ok run stopper.

[bfa9806e]7.8 RT Dwight Stanton (16/47)[/bfa9806e] I'll probably move him to RG to provide depth. Good pass blocker.

I agree with the B+ grade I got in game.

[quote961873b="JeeberD"]1.12 DE Edwin Osborne (37/85) - Looks to be a big time star and a potential face of the franchise for years to come.[/quote961873b]

Yep. I seriously regret not taking him with 1.7.

Great pick up!

[b48ad6dd]1.7 LT Singleton 37/79[/b48ad6dd] - Becomes the left tackle this team needed since Bahr was traded away.
[b48ad6dd]1.17 FS Horton 37/64[/b48ad6dd] - Will transition to strong safety and be the starter there.
[b48ad6dd]1.25 WR Engleberger 38/61[/b48ad6dd] - Immediate starter opposite Pritchett. Will be paired with King for years to come.
[b48ad6dd]2.20 RB Lewis 34/55[/b48ad6dd] - Will receive significant playing time this year. Likely will be the starter by this time next year.
[b48ad6dd]2.26 RT Gillespie 30/47[/b48ad6dd] - Starter at RT.
[b48ad6dd]3.17 LDT Coffey 24/54[/b48ad6dd] - Will help this team transition to more of a 4-3 look.
[b48ad6dd]4.12 RDE Billups 21/49[/b48ad6dd] - Backup who will see time on special teams.
[b48ad6dd]4.16 FS Cherry 22/42[/b48ad6dd] - Will back up Sanford at free safety.
[b48ad6dd]5.9 RT Glenn 15/48[/b48ad6dd] - Immediate backup at RT. Will see significant playing time.
[b48ad6dd]5.19 FB Henry 33/61[/b48ad6dd] - Will spend 1 year learning under Swensen before getting the starting job next year.
[b48ad6dd]6.8 P Alex Tong 35/72[/b48ad6dd] - Best punter in the draft will get a lot of work this year. :)

I'm not displeased with the draft. In hindsight I wish I'd nabbed one of the great DEs at 1.7.

[quote4143ccb="Cheesehead Craig"]Hi gang, I'm back from vacation and it was a great deal of family fun. Let's see how the draft list did since I was gone.

[b4143ccb]1.14 MLB Lee Cencerik (34/74). [/b4143ccb]Instant starter and desperately needed. He's only low on BnR coverage, but what the hell does a MLB need that for anyways? He's a total run stopping stud, that can blitz and do solid zone coverage.

[b4143ccb]2.13 WLB Sammie Hartsock (39/62). [/b4143ccb] Real happy to get him here. Just like Cencerik, a big time run stuffer and blitzer. Plus, his special teams ability will be a big help.

[b4143ccb]3.12 RDT Sherman Negron (27/63).[/b4143ccb] I didn't need a DT this draft, but he was too good to pass up on for my list. It was kinda a pipe dream to get him in the 3rd anyways, but it worked out. Again, another solid run stuffer (see a pattern here people?). He seems rated on par with 2nd round players taken. Big steal, IMO.

[b4143ccb]4.11 SS Heath Pogue (22/55). [/b4143ccb]Great run stuffer and ballhawk. Plus, I finally have a legit punt returner. I targeted this guy as a must have 4th rounder early on.

[b4143ccb]5.10 LT Mitch Simmons (7/56). [/b4143ccb]Bit of a project and much more of a technique blocker as he doesn't have much strength, but some weight training should help out.

[b4143ccb]6.14 FL Brady Poe (11/48]. [/b4143ccb]Real good possession and 3rd down reciever. Looks to be a very solid special teamer.

[b4143ccb]7.13 LT Johnny Graham (25/43). [/b4143ccb]Didn't interview him, but seems to be a real good pass blocker. Likely will be moved to G.

Not too bad for just making a pref list of 26 players for 6 rounds and then going best T available. I got a B from the game, and I agree with it pretty much. The first 4 picks are real solid.[/quote4143ccb]

Great plan with all of the running we do in the ROF.

Glad to see you back CC, I hope you enjoyed your time away, now back in your place as whipping boy.

Take away the run and make it all one dimensional. That's why I got the ballhawks in the secondary.

The vacation was great, thanks.

As for whipping boy, be happy to whip your @$$.

I'm going to go ahead and post mine just so I have some reference after TC- since I don't use a player tracker.

1.3 DE Mitch Pike 55/71- A little worse than I expected, but I think he will develop into a great player.

3.3 OLB Cedric Branch 13/39- He will get a contract, but only because he put up great combine numbers and my scout liked him.... Otherwise he looks completely worthless.

3.25 OLB Phillip Rasheed 23/42- Better than Branch, but still no where near what I expected out of these two. He will also get a contract, and may even be moved to MLB

4.17 MLB Bernard Tasker 24/46- Seems I do better the later I pick? Again, not as good as I expected but with good numbers he might be a "creeper" player.

4.28 WR Derek Reynolds 19/42- Blah, thats all there is to say about most my picks

5.24 WR Wendell Ishii 18/29- Another player with very good combine numbers, and my scout liked him. If he doesn't improve after training camp he will be completely worthless.

5.27 DE Kenny Roberson 18/38- No combine, very smart, high volitility, I'm just hoping he is more of a boom player.

5.32 RB Mathew Wright 24/33- How can some people draft guys rated in the 50's and I get these bums.

6.21 RB Juan Upchurch 38/43- He'll make the team more than likely, he was actually an accident pick since I had left him in the utility and forgot to turn on the dont pick same position option. My mess up pick is the only one I can say "Yeah he'll make the team"

ok, here goes,

1.6 MLB I. Hailey 45/80
Hailey Has everything i look for in an mlb: Run D and Punishing hitter, the fact the the rest of his bars are very good does not hurt either. 33 reps on the bench is nothing to joke about either, you usually see those kind of #'s from linemen. At 268 lbs he is a beast of a LB, he must carry it well as he has a decent 40 time 4.65. I see him starting from day one, he reminds me of a Levon Kirkland only faster.

2.5 LCB S. Walton aka "John Boy" 30/65
A bit of a reach at 2.5 as there were higher rated cb's on the board, but i'll take my chances. He has a decent 40 time and is 69% developed, he won't k.o. anyone so he must be a solid tackler, has very good endurance so he will se a lot of playing time and will probably start from day one, good kick return skills, but i'm a little hesitant to put a starter in as the primary return man.

3.6 LG P. Cooper 15/57
Another reach but i love his bars, his strength is a concern, but i'll take a lineman with good technique over a mauler any day of the week, ask M. Shanahan about that one. He is extremely smart but under developed has good size, may swith to the right side. Most likely will start at somepoint this season possibly week one.

4.5 RDT E. Anderson 15/56
He has the run d to start day one as well as good "fbi" (football intelligence) he has a huge motor. He could anchor the right side for years to come.

4.7 LCB D. Wheelock 21/47
I reached here for a player i saw only as my nickel back. i even gave up next years 3 to land the pick. I am a little dissapointed, but i still see him as my nickel back. he is well developed and could be a grower. My scout sucks at db's so only time will tell.

5.6 TE A. Palmer (no not Arnold) 18/53
A value pick in the 5th round. I am pleasantly surprised and he should land the 2 spot and even challenge for the starter. He has nice blocking bars and although he can't run a route to save his life, if he gets his hands on the ball he won't drop it, looks to be a nice 3rd down threat.

6.5 LG A. Aldridge 9/53
Very comparable to my 3rd round pick, the only reason i didn't snatch him up earlier was i had other needs and i did pick a similar guard in the third. He will most likely be moved to the rightside depending on how he comes out of camp. Most likely will not start this year as he need to develop more, but his future looks bright. I real bargain in the 6th.

7.6 LDT H. Holko 14/43
What can i say... A real reach pick, there were plenty of other talent rated much higher, but i am very thin at DT and i love his run d and size 6-4 337lbs. he also has good "fbi" not a pass rusher and won't stay on the field much. He should see plenty of playing time in goal line situations, the sad thing is he could actually end up starting for me...

The game gave me a C+... Thats ok, i'll just have to prove it wrong.

Lets keep our fingers crossed that we have no bust's, i need all the help i can get as i am clearly in rebuilding mode.

Since everyone's posting rookie numbers prior to tc, I'll update and post the numbers of the newest rookie class to hit Brooklyn.

1.9: RB Heupel 48/58 .65 developed
4.1: WLB Suggs 23/55 .50 dev
4.9: WLB Horton 23/52 .60 dev
4.20: MLB Svensk 29/57 .55 dev
5.8: FS/SS Frances 27/52 .49 dev
6.1: FL Alcott 17/25 .30 developed not interviewed
7.1: LG Muesey 18/44 .24 dev

Add to that the trade players:

QB D.J. Garner 5 yr, 44/54
RG Tito Gardner 3 yr 31/51

and I like the off season we've had. Building depth for the future.

Quite a few picks in MoTown:

1.28 QB [bcd30037]Shane Hall [/bcd30037](22/61) Coming in this draft, I had no intention of drafting a QB. I tried to trade out of this pick, without success. I like his bars and smarts and speed. Only 16% developed, he could take a while to be good. Or he could be just a very expensive holder.

2.27 WR [bcd30037]Ike LeTourneau[/bcd30037] (36/51) Picked mainly for his punt returning ability (and his french sounding name, I must admit), I think he can become a reliable #3 receiver.

3.08 G [bcd30037]Devin Hilliard [/bcd30037](33/46)I like strong O-lineman, and strong he is. He may not be much else, so we'll see how he turns out.

3.24 CB [bcd30037]Darryl Reynolds [/bcd30037](24/44) Fairly average bars all around, drafted to play nickel back and return both punts and kicks. I'm not too sold on him yet.

3.26 RT [bcd30037]Damon Ferreira [/bcd30037](24/47) I need youth on the O-line so went with another linemen with my last 3rd round pick. I can't say I like the guy that much, this was a need pick.

4.25 DE [bcd30037]Cornelius Malone [/bcd30037](24/36) Lousy overall ratings, lousy run defense and endurance, but good bars everywhere else, and already well developped. I think he can step in immediately and become a very good pass rush specialist.

6.15 TE [bcd30037]Jeremy Woodson [/bcd30037](17/29) I am not quite sure why I drafted yet another young TE and this one really does not have much to save him. He will probably not even be signed.

6.27 DE[bcd30037] R.J. Felts[/bcd30037] (16/43) The pick that should have been traded to New Orleans if not for a communication issue lands us a player that should complement our first DE chosen. This one will be exclusevely a run stuffer.

7.07 DT [bcd30037]Neil Ali [/bcd30037](24/40) Pretty much a shot in the dark at this point in the draft. I am thin at DT so he may stick around.

7.26 S [bcd30037]Robbie Hodges [/bcd30037](17/27) Picked for depth in the secondary and because of his 99 volatility. will probably not make it out of camp.

FOF gives me a B- grade, and I kinda agree. We did not have a great draft, but hope to come out of it with our QB of the future and some solid, if not spectacular, role players and depth.

1.20 QB Tracy Gilson, 20/68. Apart from a blind spot in his eye rendering him unable to see objects between 21 and 30 yards, he should be OK. Unless his lack of "sense rush" is getting him killed.

2.10 RB Kelly Breien, 44/62. Should be a decent change-of-pace back in an offense featuring only third-down backs. That would leave us to pass exclusively on 1st and 2nd downs.

3.13 CB Grady Collier, 28/54.
3.14 WR Luke Johnston, 17/56.
4.13 DT Archie Gray, 26/49.
5.12 SS Dwight Rhett, 24/57.
6.11 FB Les Honablue, 34/57.
7.10 TE Al Vermeil, 28/55.
