Hidden gems in the 2nd round:

-Quinn Rogers (C) should one day be a top center in the league.
-Terry Austin (FS) only gained a point but his ratings were already solid.
-Earl Willkens looks to be one of the top RBs in the draft.
-Emmanuel Graveson is probably the best CB taken in the second round (and he went last).

Busts in the 2nd round:

-The 2.1 QB is probably cut material or at best a backup.
-Bryant Terrell is not fit for this league in what was probably a volatility bust.
-All the highly rated CBs look like backups instead of starters.
-Terrance Preece, Matt Brown and Desmond McCarthy were highly rated WRs but will probably be only 3rd receivers at best.
-Cornelius Tozer (LT) dropped 10 points.
-Emmitt Coe looks like a backup DE.

I'm not sure this is even close.

Of the CB's taken in the 2nd, Graveson is probably the only one [i939c94a]not[/i939c94a] going to be a starter any time soon. I know that is due to the opportunity they were brought into but it is what it is.

I won't argue that Graveson wasn't possibly the best value pick at the position in that round but he is not good enough (yet) to be labeled as the best corner taken in the second round. While he has the potential to be a major creeper, his skill set is very specific.

Whelan, Richardson, and Noyeaux all have a more robust skill set and are likely going to start this season and hold that spot for some time (barring injuries). Noyeaux will battle McDaniel and Brandon for PT in Oregon but it will be a coin flip at the start of the season between McDaniel and Noyeaux. Noyeaux will be starting opposite Johnson by mid-season at the latest.

In Cleveland, Whelan will supplant Samuels early and be the best corner on the team sometime this season giving Solari the help he needs.

Richardson's development in the preseason will determine how quickly he starts across from the other rookie Thomason. There's not much competition in the Vegas secondary. Even 2nd Team All-League CB Jammer sees the writing on the wall.

Good job! Keep the rest of the diagnosis coming...

I don't have the experience that you do but in general a -10 drop after training camp is not a good sign, is it? In my limited experience, that's usually a sign of more drops to come (similarly, increases of +5 or more are usually a sign of more increases to come). The only exception seems to be volatility related drops/increases.

I understand it is not as cut and dried as this. However, if these guys were on my roster, I would not be counting on them to hold their value into the future.

I don't think Graveson is a creeper but TC seems to indicate his values will hold. I'm just saying that at 50/50 he is probably the best of the 2nd round as the rest will fall in value as time goes on. However, it is true that I'm only looking at aggregate value. I didn't have time to look at the individual bars of each player.

I'm not sure if you read what you posted but that seems sort of silly. To simply waste the 2.01 by not having the utility set. :smt102

I'm not good at setting a really long list myself (anything more than a round's worth really) but you had a week to list 33 players knowing you would get the first one on the list and any one of the next 32 listed. It's a shame to acknowledge it as a waste...

All that said I thought he was intruiging enough to have taken in the later rounds. Sort of glad I didn't get the chance as I expected more out of Washburn. I can't draft QB's though so that should have told me something when I liked him.

I didn't see Richardson as a 70 potential corner like the scouting bars indicated but I had him in the high 50's or low 60's which is where he surfaced after TC. The same goes for Whelan and Noyeaux. Richardson's development also suggests that his potential may not be reached but his combine and skill sets tell me he should.

If he didn't gain any current and dropped 10 in TC then I would be worried. Likewise for the other two.

Graveson should continue past 50 considering his current rating and his room for development. He will also be very good as a cover corner if used in the right scheme. I'd take any of these corners in the 2nd if I had to do it over again.

I'm not complaining about the speed, I just dont have a job that allows me to check during the day so my window of a draft is just a few hours in the evening. I was hoping we wouldn't make it to me for the second round. It happens, I'm not upset, it just wasn't ideal this time around

I'll be watching their development to see if you're right. You haven't led me astray yet, so I'm sure you are.

As I said, I don't have the experience as you so this should provide a learning opportunity.

Hopefully you've learned to have a back-up plan for future drafts. I hoped to be on for a couple of my picks, too, but it just wasn't possible. That's why I always had lots of guys in my queue.
