If anyone has anyway to make the CFL more active, please share as to how you want to do this. I know HTML and a little php, but im not great at websites. I am going to ping VPI and see what i can do as far as that goes.

I am also thinking we need to replace some more owners around here but the problem is I am not getting very much interest. I know we just need to be patient but its tough sometimes. I added a signature to my profile at FOF, perhaps if some others could do the same?

If anyone has any idea on how to lay out a webiste let me know. I can probably code it, I am just not very creative when it comes to stuff like that.

Also, do we have any graphic designers in the house?

I liked the first post from The CFL News Guy. Owners just have to send him small bits that wouldn't be enough to make a story on there own (like some GM played the 2nd overall pick in a meaningless preseason game and thus got to watch him carted off the field while the trainers carried off what was left of his knee)

Incorporate 3ric's summary on the main page - at least for the game of the week with a link to the rest of them.

Weekly predictions, vote for best/worst player of the week, etc

I think it is less about the website and more on the owners...

Owners like 3ric, Taco, and now Aylmar (sorry for anyone i've left out) who go out of their way to post articles, etc spark discussion and it is a snowball effect..

More dynasties! ;)

Only criticism I would make of the website is that the html page is not updated with every export during the season..

I mean.. if you could get it like VPI has it that would be awesome, but I think that is an unrealistic expectation..

I don't know who it is. I sent him a rumor about my team and thought about asking who he was. Figuring it had to be a fellow owner, I edited what I was originally wrote to not reveal as much about my intentions based on the rumor.

Primal gave me an FTP login for this, and since then I have taken over updating the HTML. I have updated it with each FA export and will continue to do this each week during the season. So this isn't a problem anymore! :)

More articles from more owners would be the best thing for this league. I have enjoyed reading Aylmar's articles as well as the CFL News Guy. And just to tease everyone, a new Taco's Team Rankings is in the works. :)

awesome on the html!

I really think it is going to be/needs to be a snowball effect from a couple of owners that are willing to get the ball rolling..

Hell.. i even like to think a level of activity was obtained by my dynasty.. people reading it, posting comments there, getting there punks.. er.. players... to comment on games, etc...

Just like everybody else in this thread said, it's all about the owners...If we have active owners, we'll have an active league...

Just look at who posted in this thread, and you'll have an idea of the active owners...

Also, a bit more direction at the start of the preseason would have helped. We had a few days with no clear schedule and no real idea of what was coming next and that probably threw some people off...

Other than that, the HTML update, more articles and conversations and feedback... I think we 're going in the right direction!

I say we summarily execute the owner that comes in last place each season.

I wouldn't last very long in this league then... :(

I know that I need to be more active in writing articles and such, but the problem is that I'm not nearly as creative as most of you and my articles would wind up being very bland and dry.

But if you want bland and dry articles I'll try to do better in pumping some out...

Bland and dry = good

It can still produce commentary...

Any articles are fun to read, and I doubt they would seem bland and dry to us. I hope that you do write some!

It may just be me, but the last two days this has by far been the most active of any of my leagues.

Yeah it seems like we are averaging one trade every hour.

I have begun working on some thing at my own website and testing some general ideas. I love the IHOF site, but obviously I just can't copy it.
