What a cool rule. This is such a great league...

I thought so too at first. Now, I'm not liking it as much since I have seen some teams get stuck with coaches based on the AI making a decision. The only real fix here would be the ability to add another staff hiring stage or even two. The other downfall to the rule is that you can't offer as much is the later 2 stages as you can in the first.

The one good thing is it does make you look at aspects of the game such as revenue and managing bonus money aside from just the salary cap to ensure you can offer the staff you want the salary it will require to sign them.

Interesting. I just like the aspect of being able to have a chance to keep a coach and build a team around their style, or at least maintain the illusion of team solidarity. I could see how it might keep good coaches in the hands of the winners... but isn't that pretty fair and realistic? I mean, if you have a coach that leads you to success, would you let them go? I like that you can sign coordinators to head coach positions, too. But maybe I'm not understading your point... what do you mean by the following?
You mean there are no coaches available and the AI has to pick them or something? Sorry if I'm being dense...

It would also be lame if no new, good coaches ever came up, but hopefully that isn't an issue...?

Not exactly, but if you get outbid and at the 3rd stage you have now coach one will be signe for you by the AI kind of like roster moves during the season.

Oh, I see what you are saying. You put your initial bid in on your coach, but then you get outbid in a later round because he doesn't sign right away so you end up with the AI picking for you? Yeah... that would suck. I guess I'll have to learn from experience...
