Below are some of the major events in Continental Football League history:
2003
October 21, 2003
The Continental Football League is formed. Golden Eagle is the CFL's
founder and first Commissioner.
2004
March 23, 2004
The first Front Office Football multiplayer championship game is played, as Grid Iron's
Oregon Ice beat Golden Eagle's Memphis Express 17-15. It was the first FOF game to use a live interactive
chat.
April 3, 2004
Doug5984, owner of the Tulsa Talons, publishes the first Mock Draft in CFL history. Doug
predicts Harvard DE Scott Flowers will be the first selection in the draft.
April 4, 2004
T Glocke, owner of the Detroit Biohazard (later to become the Vampires) picks Harvard DE Scott Flowers,
the first player selected in a CFL amateur draft.
September 28, 2004
Taco becomes Commissioner of the CFL.
October 22, 2004
Fantastic Flying Froggies, owner of the Detroit Vampires, implements his custom power ranking system.
November 14, 2004
The eight divisions of the CFL are renamed Deep South, Great Lakes, Atlantic, Yankee, San Andreas, Ring of Ice, Cavalry and Ring of Fire.
2005
January 24, 2005
The CFL begins using an online utility to make draft selections.
February 1, 2005
Doug5984, owner of the Tulsa Talons, successfully installs the CFL's first upload utility for submitting export files.
March 31, 2005
Owners overwhelmingly ratify the CFL Constitution, the first official league rules.
April 15, 2005
The CFL adopts an official league slogan: "Home of the lost wives and forgotten children." The phrase was coined
by Las Vegas Rounders owner TurfToe.
April 26, 2005
The Honolulu Blue Pacific become the first CFL team to win two league championships.
August 14, 2005
The CFL launches the new league website, the result of a collaborative effort between Grid Iron and Taco.
2006
March 7, 2006
The owner of the Fargo Boxcars is kicked out of the CFL for two cheating
incidents that occurred in other FOF leagues.
